Strides Against Breast Cancer

ACT Medical Group participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The walk was held October 25th and the turn out for the event was amazing. Cancer survivors, caregivers, patients and families showed up to participate in the 4 mile walk. Together with participants from around the country, the American Cancer Society raised over $275,000 to benefit cancer research and community programs. The walk is held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ACT encourages all women to get there screening mammograms.

3rd Annual Evening of Healing

The third annual Evening of Healing was held on Thursday 10/2/08. More than 80 patients, caregivers and cancer survivors attended for an evening of elegant snacks and camaraderie. The event highlighted presentations by Donna Weihofen, Senior Clinical Nutritionist at UW who spoke on "Fighting Cancer with Beans, Broccoli, and Chocolate Too!" and Nicole Ranz, Nurse Practitioner and Director of Transitions Hospice, who spoke on "Creating a Life Legacy". Additional activities included chair massages and information presented by the American Cancer Society. Lots of fun door prizes added to the festivities.

The evening is an annual event for ACT Medical Groups and focuses on a positive journey through cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. For more information on the event or to get involved, please contact the office.
